MARCUS MILES
Owner & Operator
Marcus Miles is the owner and lead HVAC professional with over 20 years of experience serving Carlsbad and the surrounding area. He brings expert level knowledge in air conditioning, heating, and complete HVAC systems, delivering reliable, high quality solutions for residential customers. Marcus holds all required state licenses and certifications, allowing him to safely and professionally service a wide range of systems with precision and care. His certifications include MM3 and MM4 mechanical classifications for HVAC installation and service, Journeyman Plumber Fitter (JPF) for system piping and connections, Journeyman Refrigeration (JR) for air conditioning and refrigeration systems, and Journeyman Sheet Metal (JSM) for custom ductwork fabrication and installation. He also holds MHD certification and is authorized to work on manufactured home HVAC systems, ensuring code compliant service across all home types. Marcus is known for his attention to detail, problem solving expertise, and commitment to comfort, safety, and long term system performance.
AMY MILES
Operations Manager & Co-Owner
Amy Miles is the Operations Manager and Co-Owner, serving as the backbone of the company and ensuring everything runs smoothly day to day. She oversees scheduling, customer communication, office operations, and internal processes, keeping projects on track and customers informed every step of the way. With a strong commitment to organization, efficiency, and customer care, Amy plays a vital role in creating a seamless experience from the first call to project completion. Her attention to detail and dedication to service allow the team to focus on delivering quality workmanship while knowing the business operations are in trusted hands. Amy’s leadership, reliability, and behind the scenes expertise are essential to the success and continued growth of the company.

Carlsbad Heating and Cooling’s story began in 1946, when the company first opened its doors as Carlsbad Sheet Metal, serving the growing needs of the Carlsbad community. In its early years, the business focused on hand-crafted sheet metal work, operating out of a small shop and building a reputation for skill, reliability, and pride in workmanship.
Founded by Kenneth and Pete Pendergrass, the shop became a trusted name in town, producing custom metal work and supporting local homes and businesses at a time when everything was built by hand. Over the decades, the company evolved alongside Carlsbad itself, expanding services and adapting to new technologies while maintaining the same commitment to quality.
Today, Carlsbad Heating and Cooling carries forward that legacy. What started as a sheet metal shop has grown into a full service heating and cooling company, still rooted in craftsmanship, community, and care for its customers. The original spirit of the business lives on in every project, honoring the past while continuing to serve Carlsbad for generations to come.
